Could you be a mentor to a law student?
The Brunel Law School is launching a mentoring programme to help provide students with advice and guidance from law professionals.
The scheme aims to provide students with a good insight into life in their planned profession and to provide them with invaluable guidance and advice that will help them start their career off on the right foot.
We are now looking for law alumni who would like to become mentors on this scheme. This would involve mentoring an individual on a one-to-one basis, predominantly through email or telephone interactions, but also with occasional face-to-face meetings where possible.
We would welcome participants from any part of the legal profession as well as those working in business, public or voluntary sector occupations.
Mentoring schemes can be highly beneficial not only to students but also to their mentors. You will have the opportunity to reflect on your own practice, develop professional relationships and experience the satisfaction of supporting the development of others.
If you would like to express your interest in the scheme, or to find out more information, please contact Professor Patrick Polden on patrick.polden@brunel.ac.uk.
