Alumni Benefits on Campus

Alumni Card

Your alumni card will allow you access to the benefits on campus listed below. Cards are free for all alumni of Brunel University. Simply email your name, your current postal address, year of graduation and your subject of study to alumni@brunel.ac.uk and we will post one out to you. Alternatively, call into the office (Michael Stirling 258, Mon-Fri 10am - 4pm) and collect it in person.

Postgraduate discount

Thinking of adding another string to your bow? As a Brunel graduate, you are entitled to 15% discount on postgraduate course fees, for a postgraduate course or research programme undertaken on a self-funding basis. What’s more, if you graduated with a First Class Honours degree, you can get a further 15% discount with our Postgraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship. Scholarships for Brunel graduates wishing to undertake a PhD at Brunel are also available from 2015. More information....

Library access

Brunel alumni can use the library on campus. You will need an alumni card, and if you wish to take out any books (up to six long loans), you will need to pay £20 for annual membership within the library itself. You will be asked to fill in a registration form (also available here). If you just want to use books within the library for reference, you can do so for free, but will need an alumni card to gain access.  When visiting the library, please also bring some form of photo ID (such as a driver’s licence).

Restricted loans are reserved for students only, due to the high demand for these items. If you are looking to access a specific book, we recommend that you look online at the catalogue (http://brunel.summon.serialssolutions.com/advanced) before coming to the library. If the book is listed as an ‘overnight loan’, ‘three day loan’, or ‘one week loan’ you will not be able to borrow it.

Regrettably, the computing facilities are restricted on campus as electronic resources are only licensed for student use, so you will not be able to access electronic journals and you will not be able to log in to the computers.

University archives

Our university archives house documents and artefacts which provide evidence of the rich history of Brunel University, West London Institute of Higher Education, Maria Grey College, Shoreditch College and Borough Road College. If you are conducting research into these institutions or tracing your family history, please contact us via alumni@brunel.ac.uk and we will help arrange access for you.

Loco’s Bar / The Academy

As an Associate Member of UBS, you can still use the campus bar, Loco’s and purchase tickets for events at The Academy. You will need to bring photo ID and your Alumni Card to gain entry. Unfortunately, you will not be able to sign in guests.

Sports facilities

Our world class sports facilities, including the gym, are available for use by alumni and members of the public.

Brunel memorabilia

From hoodies and t-shirts to Brunel bags, the UBS has a range of memorabilia for you to wear with pride. Visit http://www.brunelleisurewear.com/ for more information.
